A Note From Mrs. Beathard: I have taught at four elementary schools and Porter Elementary is by far the best! We have the best teachers and the absolute best students. I am proud to be part of the Porter Elementary family. Quick Facts About Mrs. Beathard *Grew up in Alaska and graduated from West Anchorage High School in Anchorage, Alaska. *Graduated from Trinity University with a degree in Elementary Education. Earned a Masters Degree and completed the principal certification program at Stephen F. Austin State University. Completed the superintendent certification program at Sam Houston State University. *Experience in the field of education: -Classroom teacher in grades 2 - 6 for 17 years -Teacher in gifted and talented programs in two school districts -High school librarian for 3 years -Assistant principal -Principal of Porter Elementary since 2006. *Married for 28 years with 3 sons, Chase, Beau, and Hayes. Chase is married, is a plant physiologist in Salem, Oregon, and has a baby daughter named Peyton. Beau is in college and will graduate in May 2012. Hayes is in middle school. *Loves to spend time with family, read, travel, and visit family in Washington and Alaska. |
